**$1,000 Sign-On Bonus Included. No OTR Travel.**

**Position Summary:**

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient transportation of heavy equipment for road construction. Drivers will deliver all types of equipment to construction projects.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

* Ability to operate, load and unload equipment safely and efficiently.

* Thorough operational knowledge and skills of operating a commercial motor vehicle and related equipment to be operated.

* Operates semi-truck with one or two trailers, according to state laws. Transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

* Must keep time and material records through drivers daily logs.

* Must follow verbal and written instruction.

* Must have maneuvering and backing skills.

* Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.

* Connect and disconnect trailers.

* Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding hauling oversized loads.

* Performs miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires. Reports any maintenance malfunctions to Supervisor.

* Minimal travel outside of Wichita area.

* Minimum one year of experience hauling heavy equipment and oversized loads is preferred.

* Must be flexible to work days, nights or occasional weekends.

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

* Ability to communicate using two-way radios.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

* Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.

* Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety sensitive employee subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
