Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare mortgage closing packages, per closing instructions, and send to closing attorney with funds (if applicable) prior to closing.
  • Review and approve closing disclosures for all real estate mortgage loan closings. This includes correct APR calculation and issuance of final closing documents and preparation of the funding worksheet to calculate net funded wire.
  • Wire funds to closing agent or correspondent bank as needed to fund or purchase a loan along with running of proper tickets to clear funding.
  • After loan closing, finalize loan in a timely manner in preparation for the post-closing departments.
  • Work with loan underwriters, processors and post-closing on any outstanding conditions to be cleared.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:

  1. Meet or exceed department goals that are created in conjunction with corporate goals.
  2. To ensure all files are in compliance with federal regulations and Credit Union Policy.
  3. Report regularly to leadership on the status of all leads and loans being worked.


Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: 1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills:
  • Must be familiar with and have the ability to type, use the PC and mortgage software system to input applicant information and to create closing documents.
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with applicants and agents.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn all aspects of real estate processing.
  • Must possess a high degree of organizational skills and the ability to work accurately while meeting deadlines


Physical Requirements: Light lifting required.

Work Environment: Prompt regular attendance at the assigned workplace is required.
