We have been selected to work with the largest community college district in the US. We are seeking exceptional talent to join their growing team, specifically for an Estimator IV in Monterey Park, CA. The college district consists of nine colleges that offer low-cost education and is the leader in environmentally responsible construction. It has been granted several awards in the fields of sustainability, management, design, and more.

Position Summary:

This role is for a senior estimator specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades, reporting to the PMO Program Controls Manager and Lead Estimator.

Responsibilities include preparing construction cost estimates for buildings based on drawings and specifications, evaluating cost-estimating deliverables, and conducting site visits to gather relevant information for project estimates.

The senior estimator will also perform material takeoffs, evaluate pricing documents and historical cost data, and collaborate with project stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Other duties include comparing cost estimates with contractors' proposals, developing scopes of work, and working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in cost estimating for type I, II, or III and V building construction, with 5-7 years specifically in MEP estimating.

A degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field is required, or equivalent experience.

Expertise in cost estimating principles, construction methods, and MEP systems is necessary.

Knowledge of various contracting forms and prevailing wage rates is preferred, along with proficiency in industry-standard estimating software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Prevailing Wage/Union Labor rates and productivity standards.

Familiarity with estimating software such as RS Means, Accubid, Trimble MEP, or Bluebeam Revu.

Detail-oriented with strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills.
