Position Title: Tax Manager
Location:
Frisco, Texas (Hybrid Working Schedule - 1 Day In-Office)
Compensation:
$110,000 to $120,000 + Bonus Potential
Job Summary:
As a Tax Manager, you will oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for the organization. You will lead a team of tax professionals, ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, minimize tax liabilities, and provide strategic tax advice to support business objectives. This role requires in-depth knowledge of tax laws, strong leadership skills, and the ability to analyze complex tax issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
Provide proactive tax advice and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with ASC 740 (formerly FASB ASC 740), including accounting for income taxes and related disclosures.
Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, coordinating responses and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization and implementing necessary adjustments.
Review and approve tax provisions, accruals, and related disclosures for financial reporting purposes in accordance with US GAAP and tax accounting principles.
Assign responsibilities, set performance expectations, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
Assess tax risks associated with business operations, transactions, and compliance activities, implementing controls and mitigation strategies as needed.
Conduct research on complex tax issues, rulings, and regulations to provide guidance and recommendations to the organization.
Interpret tax laws and rulings, analyzing their implications and advising on potential tax planning opportunities or exposures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to address tax-related matters and support business initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation or CPA certification preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and consulting, with 1+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including corporate, partnership, and international taxation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations and apply them to business scenarios.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of tax professionals.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders.
