Position Overview:

As the Lead Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure solutions for our clients as well as managing and leading a team of Cloud Engineers. Leveraging your extensive experience in cloud technologies, you will lead a team of architects and engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that meet the unique requirements of each project. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

STRONG ARCHITECTURE BACKGROUND FROM NETWORK PERSPECTIVE/NETWORK MONITORING, TECHNOLOGIES LIST BELOW IN EMAIL. STAND ALONE PROJECT, SOME INTEGRATIONS BUT VERY MINOR. OPERATE ON OWN. TEAM OF 10, 2 SRE'S AND 2 ONSHORE

Backend Developers

  • Skills: Proficiency in Go and Java, with strong knowledge of AWS and Linux environments.
  • Responsibilities: Developing and maintaining core functionalities, managing server-side logic, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.

Data Processing and Analytics Engineers

  • Skills: Expertise in Spark, Kafka, and big data processing. Familiar with Java or Scala for Spark.
  • Responsibilities: Implementing data pipelines, handling large-scale data processing, and real-time analytics.

Security and Network Analysts

  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of network security, experienced with tools like Zeek/Bro, Suricata, and Arkime (previously known as Moloch)
  • Responsibilities: Integrating network security tools, developing security analytics, threat identification and response mechanisms.

Frontend/UI Developers

  • Skills: Expertise in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, along with a good understanding of Elasticsearch.
  • Responsibilities: Designing and developing the user interface, creating a responsive and visually appealing front-end, ensuring data is presented effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the end-to-end architecture design process for cloud-based solutions, including system requirements analysis, platform selection, and infrastructure planning, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements and architecture designs specifically tailored to cloud environments.

3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of architects and engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and alignment with project goals, particularly within the realm of cloud architecture.

4. Architect and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, emphasizing best practices for cloud-native development and deployment.

5. Optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, utilizing automation and infrastructure-as-code principles to streamline operations and enhance scalability.

6. Conduct architectural reviews, performance analyses, and capacity planning to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization within cloud environments.

7. Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing and architecture, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our offerings and maintain competitive advantage.

8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction, with a focus on integrating cloud technologies seamlessly into project workflows.

9. Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the organization, particularly in the context of cloud architecture and technologies.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

2. Proven experience (8+ years) designing and implementing cloud-based architectures, with a focus on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, demonstrating a deep understanding of cloud-specific challenges and opportunities.

3. Strong expertise in cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, databases, and security, with a track record of successfully architecting and implementing complex cloud solutions.

4. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS, with a focus on leveraging containerization for cloud-native applications.

5. Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates, with a demonstrated ability to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management.

6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, particularly within the context of cloud architecture.

7. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-driven mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

8. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect preferred, highlighting expertise in cloud architecture and technologies.

9. Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is a plus, with a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate in virtual settings.
