Lance Construction is looking for a highly motivated and experienced commercial construction superintendent to join our team of construction professionals. Lance Construction has been in the Houston construction industry for over 20 years, specializing in interior finish and tenant improvement projects. Our projects primarily consist of interior remodels in class A high rise office buildings, and office/warehouse complexes.
Job Description
Commercial Construction Superintendent for an interior renovations firm, specializing in high rise class A building build-outs and remodels. The superintendent will manage field crew and project execution following schedule and budget guidelines. The superintendent will manage various projects, locations and size crews in the greater Houston area ranging in project size and duration. The superintendent should have the ability to manage time and various size crews, motivate and lead the team to successful project completion. You will communicate by email daily with your team for updates on projects and with customers.
Job Responsibilities
Utilize Procore construction software for daily logs, photos, crew time, and communication regarding projects with the management team.
Travel between projects in various Downtown and surrounding area buildings; must have reliable transportation.
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise Lance Construction's field team to complete quality projects on time and on budget.
Track and assess field crew timesheets and job coding to proper project.
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all subcontractors, managing security clearances and project schedules.
Coordinate work with Lance Construction project management team, construction managers, property managers, and building owners.
Ensure projects meet quality control and craftsmanship standards.
Identify discrepancies in construction drawings and potential problems in projects, presenting solutions to resolve issues.
Responsible for RFI's and jobsite safety reporting.
Order, manage, and assess material and equipment orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain project schedule and construction timeline.
Coordinate all site inspections with City officials and third-party inspectors.
Complete punch lists and project closeout documentation.
Provide after-hours supervision as required on site and/or by phone.
Ensure compliance with project contracts, construction drawings, and building rules and regulations.
Foster client and subcontractor relationships through effective communication.
Identify work beyond contract documents and assist in resolving scope conflicts.
Collaborate with project manager to meet project goals.
Assist project management team in acquisition and approval of shop drawings, samples, and submittal packages.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
2 to 5 years minimum experience as a project lead or superintendent in commercial construction.
Proficiency in Procore construction software.
Strong email communication skills using Outlook.
College degree preferred or 5 years minimum experience in lieu of education.
Strong knowledge, interpretation, and understanding of commercial construction drawings and documents.
Proven track record of completed projects meeting timeline and budget constraints.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
Understanding of Houston commercial construction building processes, permits, and procedures.
Tenant improvement experience and knowledge of high rise office building environments are a plus.
Adaptability to changing project environments.
Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-profile situations.
Demonstrated ability to hold themselves and others accountable and meet expectations.
Working knowledge of commercial real estate and property management operations are a plus.
Experience:
Commercial Construction Superintendent: 2 years minimum
Managing field crews of 5-20+
