Description

Purchasing AgentEssential Functions:•Builds and maintains business relationships with vendors and suppliers to create the best possible partnership.•Can confidently negotiate and close deals to secure the best value, terms, and service.•Purchases materials, coordinates material movement, and manages inventory levels to ensure timely material availability.•Forecast levels of demand to ensure all products arrive in a timely manner so there are no interruptions in manufacturing•Manages purchasing and inventory systems to ensure accurate recording of all purchases and material movement data.•Schedules and coordinates all truckload and LTL shipmentsKey Areas of Responsibility1. Source, procure, and coordinate delivery of all raw, finished, and semi-finished materials.2. Negotiates pricing and contracts with vendors and service providers.3. Source, procure, and coordinate completion of all professional services.4. Issue purchase orders for all purchased materials, supplies, and services.5. Receive all purchase orders in the purchasing system upon receipt of goods. Investigate andcorrect any discrepancies between ordered and received quantities.6. Verify invoice amounts against purchase orders upon receipt and approve same for payment.7. Manage inventory levels and material movements to ensure timely material availability.8. Coordinate with other departments to manage purchasing and inventory systems, purchase product line items, and other system settings to ensure timely and accurate tracking of all material purchases and movements.9. Schedule and coordinate material returns with vendors.10. Coordinate with scheduling to pickup materials on company trucks when necessary.11. Other duties as deemed reasonable and necessary by the Company.

Position Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's Degree in business, logistics, supply chain or similar

Level of Experience: Three to five years' professional experience in purchasing and inventory management in a manufacturing environment

Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook Certifications/Licenses

Other: Drug-Free workplace Preferred Qualifications 1. General Knowledge of Kitchen & Bath Products 2. General Knowledge of Construction Materials 3. General Knowledge of Plumbing Parts, Fittings, and Supplies 4. Experience working in Jobtracker job management software
