The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering Function, Maintenance, and Facilities. This role will be expected to plan, direct, and improve the manufacturing process for optimal and efficient production operation and use of company assets.

Responsibilities:

Direct the departmental strategy and daily activities of Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance/Facilities, and HSE Manager, by professionally challenging current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways and/or approaches.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing and distribution processes, workflow, and layouts to improve efficiencies, flexibility, scalability, reduce waste and increase productivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain, to understand business requirements and identify areas for improvement by implementing solutions.
Responsible for identifying, chartering, and leading significant capital projects and improvement initiatives delivering the project results on time and within budget. This includes managing any subcontractors if required.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles, Six-Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to drive operational excellence and achieve cost savings.
Conduct root cause analysis, performing diagnostics, and troubleshooting equipment.
Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related cost to provide information for management decisions.
Propose modifications to product design aimed at enhancing both manufacturability and quality control standards.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track progress, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
Establish departmental policies and procedure and create or modify work instructions in accordance with the QMS.
Train and mentor Engineering staff on manufacturing engineering concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
Conduct annual performance reviews.
Monitor employees time and PTO approval.

Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
Minimum 10 years experience in an Engineering role within a metal fabrication facility preferred.
5-10 years in a supervisory capacity.
Formal training in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities are highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
Knowledge of quality systems in an ISO9015 environment.
Strong project management skills.
