Provide full support to Project Managers/Project Executives by applying engineering techniques and analyses, to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes and specifications. Assist Project Manager and Superintendents with overall construction management, as well as supervise craft employees. The Senior Project Engineer will perform a full breadth of engineering duties in planning, and organizing construction projects. They may also be assigned to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple scope(s) of work of a project to include accurate billing, shop drawings, review quotations, and maintaining cost standards and quality
  • Direct the requisition of equipment and material deliveries
  • Schedule and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve project challenges and conflicts in coordination with superintendents and Project Manger
  • Manage contracts and specifications to ensure work is done in accordance with such to include client contracts and subcontracts
  • Lead project meetings and collect/ distribute information pertaining to the successful completion of the project
  • Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company and the owner
  • Determine possibility of conflicts/ delays in the construction process and analyzes the process to determine risks of resulting effects; suggest preventative steps for correction
  • Manage project reporting to include project costs and forecasting (manage monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing)
  • Manage document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.; oversee and create applicable correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plan and/or specifications affect products or services
  • Review employee and equipment timecards daily
  • Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint quantity measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locates, and adjustments, testing, claims, etc.
  • Perform additional assignments per managers direction

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering and Management
  • Five or more years Construction experience in major infrastructure projects, preferably with DOT Clients
  • Experience in cost estimating and scheduling
  • Highly motivated and dedicated to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing proficiencies
  • Clear display of progressive leadership skills and goal orientation with proven achievement
  • Organizational ability able to plan, prioritize, organize and monitor activities and projects. Able to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach
  • Interpersonal able to work well and persuade people at all organization levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Primavera P6, CAD, and HeavyJob preferred but not required
  • Flexibility to travel and relocate as needed
