Prepare monthly SOX compliant journal entries and accruals Record fixed assets and maintain related depreciation/amortization schedules Work proactively and cooperatively with other team members and members of management Maintain general ledger accuracy by monthly account reviews/reconciliation. Perform month end close, ensuring accurate results are delivered by deadlines Management of cash and credit card application & related bank reconciliations Inventory analysis & account reconciliation Research, prepare, and perform audit requests for internal and external auditors Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information/operational analysis using various reporting tools Other duties as assigned by the Division Controller SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervise accounting staff when necessary Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA/MBA a plus Strong knowledge of General Ledger & reconciling GL to sub-ledgers Exposure and proficiency with high level ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, MS Dynamics) Superior analytical and modeling skills including advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports Demonstrates full understanding of all month-end processes and calculation files and underlying accounting concepts Be a proactive problem solver with the ability to think outside the box, arriving at creative and effective recommendations for improvements and enhancements in financial and non-financial operations PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
