Hours: Temporary, hourly

Job Summary: The Lobby Receptionist serves campus guests, residents, faculty, and staff; attends to general campus inquiries (face to face and on the phone); and provides administrative support to Enrollment Management. As receptionist you will be the first point of contact for the university. The receptionist always maintains an outgoing and engaging demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. As the lobby host, be proactively present both physically and mentally to create a welcoming space. Engaging guests, students, and staff in your space is the first step to meeting their need.
  2. Maintain a professional personal presentation & appearance at all times.
  3. Maintain safe & clean lobby and public areas of Wright Hall.
  4. Serve as an integral element of the undergraduate recruitment communication plan.
  5. Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls on the main university number while providing basic information when needed.
  6. Follow and Administer Southern Adventist University COVID-19 Policy and Procedures:
wear a face mask, display a wristband from the daily health assessment, adhere to proper
physical distancing (minimum 6 feet), comply with other COVID-19 safety protocols
  1. Receive and alert recipient or department (Call, IM or Email) for courier deliveries.
  2. Assist in clerical maintenance of prospective student management system (Slate).
  3. Assist with ViewSouthern, PreviewSouthern, and other events hosted by the Enrollment Management Office.
  4. Back-up Call Center Manager as necessary.
  5. Cross-train in other areas of Enrollment Management.
Qualifications:
Must demonstrate track record of effective guest service and interpersonal communication; be organized and attentive to detail; be flexible between guests on the phone and in person; be able to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure; demonstrate sound judgment.

Hours: Intermittent Temporary Employment, on an as needed basis.

Education: High school diploma required, Associate Degree preferred.

Experience:
Proven working experience in similar roles, telephone skills, solid communication skills both written and verbal, proficient in Microsoft Office products, empathetic listening, professionalism, customer focus, organized.
