A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Reporting and Technical Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, experience with publicly traded companies, SEC reporting, and experience with Tech Accounting Research and white paper.

The Senior Reporting and Technical Accountant is a client direct hire position. This position ishybrid 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

Senior Reporting and Technical Accountant Benefits:

  • 10% annual bonus
  • 401K with $4K and 4% of base comp (regardless of whether the employee contributes or not) and will match 6% of employee contributions, if the employee contributes 8%

Senior Reporting and Technical Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Research and interpret accounting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and assess the impact on financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support on technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, and other complex transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting implications of new business initiatives, contracts, and transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of SEC filings (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and other regulatory disclosures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the external audit process by preparing audit schedules, addressing audit inquiries, and facilitating the resolution of audit findings.
  • Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards, regulatory developments, and industry trends, and communicate their potential impact to management and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, such as process improvements, system implementations, and M&A activities.

Senior Reporting and Technical Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting and technical accounting roles, preferably in a publicly traded company or public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and relevant accounting standards
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and accounting guidance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with senior management.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software; experience with ERP systems.
