We are looking for an in-person only Systems Engineer in the Topeka office. Full-time availability is needed, 40 hours per week. After initial training of approximately 6 - 8 months, a hybrid-remote work schedule may be discussed.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have experience keeping the computer network running smoothly; reviewing and analyzing software and hardware needs; recommending changes and upgrades where applicable; and providing efficient, effective, and timely service to Mize employees and clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining Windows & Linux (RedHat/CentOS) servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policy
  • Supporting network technologies including firewalls, routers, switches; wireless access points; VLANS; routing
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013, SPAM filtering; Postfix
  • VMWare VSphere & ESXi, storage networking with SAN, NAS, DAS technologies
  • Disaster Recovery preparedness utilizing backup & replication
  • Security including antivirus, system and process logging, 2-factor authentication, disk encryption
  • Understanding how hardware, software and network changes affect business processes, security and disaster recovery
  • Providing tier three/four support for helpdesk team on advanced issues concerning internal and external clients
  • Research, evaluate and propose hardware, software and procedural changes to meet the needs of business units
  • Ability to work hours necessary to meet deadlines for work assigned
  • Occasional same day travel for work at client's offices, meetings and seminars
  • Increased workload required during certain times of the year
Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • In-office work during training, due to the interaction necessary between departments and trainer. Amount of time required will vary based on the individual's experience and abilities.
  • Minimum High School diploma
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated customer service aptitude
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree with major in IT
  • Certifications or formal technical education
  • Familiarity with Cisco, HP Procurve, Fortinet, Veeam, Barracuda
  • Prior experience in an IT support role
  • Experience in delivery of quality client service
