Andrews & Cole is partnering with an exciting, well-funded manufacturing start up based Beavercreek, OH. Candidates must be able to work onsite 4-5 days/week.

We seek a Controller who can be both a hands on and strategic player-coach, building a world class finance and accounting function to enable our growth.

The Controller is a strategic partner to the CEO and a hands-on leader of the finance, accounting, and risk management functions. The role also has significant interaction with the companys parent company. This is a highly entrepreneurial environment, requiring an ability to advise the CEO and management team while maintaining rigorous standards.

Oversee all accounting and finance functions and staff, with a focus on continuous improvement and development of best practices and systems.

Implement systems, establishing appropriate policies and controls, that will provide functional management the information needed on a timely basis to successfully run the business.

Prepare reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, margin and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

Direct preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Successfully arrange and complete reviews / audits of companys accounts.

Maintain open communication with senior leaders, keeping them informed of all changes in the companys financial position.

Provide timely analysis of job costs, sales forecasts, and capital appropriation requests to ensure company financial targets are met.

With accounting staff, accumulate job cost data from bi-weekly payroll reports, materials, and vendor billings in order to prepare monthly work in process (WIP) reports for each project.

Manage all company operating, payroll, savings and investment banking accounts including deposits, disbursements, and balancing.

In conjunction with project managers and other project staff, review monthly invoices.

Oversee accounts payable.

Verify that vendors meet all requirements of contract agreement prior to payments.

Review accounts receivable and collections status.

Review estimated versus actual costs and partner with CEO to determine estimating best practices.

Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities. Evaluate and make recommendations on employee benefit plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/BA in accounting, finance, business management.

CPA and/or MBA is preferred.

5-10 years of experience that includes both industry and public accounting with manufacturing clients is strongly preferred.

Job cost / construction accounting experience and knowledge preferred.

ERP and / or accounting system implementation experience preferred.

Must have good skills using Microsoft Office products with highly proficient skills with Microsoft Excel.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.

Constant process improvement mindset.
