Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Vice President of People Operations. This is an ideal opportunity for a value-aligned leader with strong HR expertise, proven leadership experience, and a deep understanding of compliance and organizational development.
Responsibilities of the Vice President of People Operations:
- Lead HR strategy, change management, and organizational development.
- Ensure compliance with MA labor laws, including FMLA/LOA.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, and policy development.
- Manage the HR team.
- Maintain employee handbook, track compliance, and support audits.
- Drive internal communications, staff engagement, and retention initiatives.
- Oversee HR systems, data tracking, and process improvements.
- Represent HR at board and leadership meetings.
- 5+ years in HR leadership in the nonprofit industry.
- Deep knowledge of MA labor laws, FMLA, and LOA.
- Strong background in compliance, change management, and performance development.
- Proven ability to implement HR systems and streamline processes.
- Flexible, approachable, and team-oriented leadership style.
- SHRM or similar HR certification.
- Experience in L&D, benefits, payroll, and DEI initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree is required.
