Req #234 Overview · The Accountant will be responsible for accounting for and evaluating the financial performance of Padnos and its separate business units while also working on various projects to improve accounting processes. This individual will work in conjunction with the company’s finance team, focusing on financial statement generation, account reconciliations, financial analysis, forecasts, annual planning, identifying areas for financial improvements, and increasing the financial literacy of the company. Accountabilities Monthly Financial Statement Generation Work with the finance department to publish financial statements, including budget to actual comparisons and monthly snapshots views for location managers. Prepare standard journal entries using in and generate and post other general ledger entries as needed. Reconcile balance sheet accounts with the general ledger and complete bank reconciliations . Consult with Management on Financial Results, Analyze Business Opportunities and Complete Other Projects Work with business unit leaders to complete weekly forecasts during the month. Complete projects to improve reporting visibility, accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, financial performance, etc., as required. Contribute to the completion of IRS audits, banking audits, and other statutory reporting requirements as needed. Analyze financial results. Explore anomalies in monthly results and to deliver insights. Complete Other Tasks As Needed Maintain the company’s Fixed Asset accounting system. Monitor Credit Card usage. Monitor bank balances and impact of payments and receipts. Complete bank reconciliations. Setup and release ACH and Wires. Outcomes Complete monthly financial statements and supplemental documentation on a timely basis. Provide insight into financial performance to management monthly. Maintain and balance general ledger accounts monthly. Complete projects within the determined timeframe. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. Prefer 5 years of experience as a general accountant. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills. Expert user of MS Excel is required. Possess general accounting skills with a desire to learn the business and help the company become more profitable. Collaborative and team-oriented. Exhibits the desire to work with fellow team members to find new ways to grow the company. Adaptable communication style enabling effective messaging with all levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills and ability to diagnose metrics. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Proven organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail. Able to work in a self-guided manner. Possesses a bias towards action with demonstrated success in getting things done.
