Job Title: Cerner Millennium Powerplans Systems Analyst

Location: Ogden Avenue, Chicago, IL

12 + months contract with intent to convert fulltime

Pay ***: ****/hr on W2

Description:

Cerner Millennium Powerplans Systems Analyst who reports directly to the Clinical Applications Director and is responsible for the maintenance of Cerner Powerplans functionality at CCHHS. Responsibilities also include providing immediate application and systems support and overseeing the completion of projects, system enhancements, applying vendor upgrades, application support and support of users.

JOB DUTIES (List in order of importance)1. Utilizing Cerner Millennium Powerplans the analyst will design, build and document application changes.2. Consult with end users on Powerplans design and build changes.3. Tests software to detailed specifications.4. Trains less experienced personnel.5. Reports project activity and status to management.6. Learns new clinical applications and oversees the completion of tasks related to clinical system functions.7. Attend applicable vendor clinical application classes.8. Coordinate the resolution of User calls and determine appropriate action by investigating and analyzing reported hardware and software problems.9. Identify, analyze, track and report on project issues.10. Evaluate and assist senior management in the implementation of system upgrades.11. Analyzing functional requirements documentation, conducting interviews with key personnel and collecting information about the use of the current system.12. Assist in the preparation of documentation and development of interface and conversion specifications.13. Act as liaison between departments and external areas as required. Schedule periodic meetings with IS, Vendors and Users to ensure effective communications.14. Identify and encourage user department procedural changes.15. Conduct workflow sessions with end users.16. Demonst*** system to users.17. Perform system adaptations and modifications according to the prepared specifications.18. Function as a project implementation manager for clinical system related projects.19. Assist in developing departmental education and training materials.20. Monitor/review procedural materials.21. Refine sample test plans for conversion, interfaces, and applications.22. Assist in the development of a Live Event Plan.23. Provide post-live application support.24. Work with Project Management to obtain sign-offs.25. Complete assigned work plan tasks.26. Maintain tables, files, profiles, codes sets, etc.27. Provide after-hours support of clinical applications per schedule.28. Learn and assist with other applications as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities1. Knowledge of Cerner Millennium PowerPowerplants

nowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle3. Project management and project management software skills

QUALIFICATIONS1. Minimum 2 years' experience in Healthcare Information Systems and as an Information Technology Specialist is required.2. Minimum of 2 years' build and maintenance experience with Cerner Millennium PowerChart and PowerNote is required.3. Exhibit the ability to communicate effectively in a customer service environment.4. Must have excellent verbal and written skills.5. Experience in the use of client server clinical systems is preferred.6. Ability to complete project tasks and assignments on time is required.Applications programming experience is a plus.EDUCATION1. A Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, healthcare administration, information systems, computer science or other healthcare related bachelors' degree or higher is required.
