Your Responsibilities

The Loss Control Consultant works on behalf of the Lockton clients to consult on business exposures that effect the total cost of risk in various industries. The Lockton Risk Control Department plays a significant role with our clients as we aim at being a seamless risk control practice that creates measurable value by partnering with our clients to improve their operations and financial results. Our services are supported by industry experts and risk specialists to align with our clients strategic goals to create a partnership and keep business. We utilize quantitative data analytics and qualitative information to provide consulting to our clients on how to reduce operational risks, protect human capital, and reduce total cost of risk.
Have healthcare experience in managing or advising clients/employers/teams on the exposures from Auto exposures, General Liability exposures, Property & Workers Compensation exposures & has executed effective risk control action plans that reduced the total cost of risk.
Has experience conducting violence/security risk assessments in healthcare settings & can offer risk mitigation action plans & training.
Has experience with The Joint Commission (TJC), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and others for understanding the intersection of loss control & these expectations and can offer loss control services, consultation or training to support these goals.
Has safe patient/resident mobility experience to support injury prevention for healthcare workers & patients/residents.
Partner with clients to review possible exposures that effect the total cost of risk of their business.
Consulting with clients to provide guidance and support to reduce identified risks.
Assists in the development of plans and materials required to achieve successful implementation of risk programs
Develops and provides training regarding critical safety measures and guidelines
Use qualitative and quantitative data to assist clients with lowering risks and costs
Develops information on complex client accounts regarding claims analysis, loss trends, and other specific technical areas, monitoring loss history trends as needed
Provides clients and prospects with loss prevention and risk analysis intended to positively impact their loss ratio and premium levels
Makes recommendations for remedying hazardous conditions, practice or potential loss for Client, ensuring causing circumstance to comply with appropriate codes and standards
Surveys locations, equipment, operations, and safety practices to both clients and prospects and communicates findings to internal team and clients that identify potential hazards and related underwriting risks
Communicates and distributes safety, hazard prevention, and loss-control information to Client
Assists Producers in identifying and retaining business through the creation and presentation of Healthcare specific loss control services
Understands, evaluates, and interprets the Healthcare client exposures on Auto, General Liability, Property & Workers Compensation insurance programs & can establish carrier partner relationships and oversight to help manage recommendations
Supports compliance with all Healthcare safety regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to Healthcare employers & industry specific loss control issues.
Has Healthcare OSHA experience to support clients with OSHA 300 log management & Healthcare specific written Safety program development & training
Can meet each client where they are at in Risk Control sophistication and appetite and educate/coach the various contacts on the client team on loss control regulations & best practices as needed
Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed

Qualifications

Typically requires 3+ years of experience in loss control
Data analytics experience to include excel spreadsheets is required
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations preferred
Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
Experience in property, fleet safety, workers compensation fields preferred
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time. Both car and air travel
Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions
Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time
Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed
