Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the entire product development process, from concept to production, with a focus on electro-mechanical product design, redesign, part assembly, and detailed part drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead design projects, including new product development and enhancements. Create and distribute engineering documentation such as Engineering Change Notices, bills of materials, and parts tracking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and report project progress to senior management. Efficiently manage multiple projects while negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve cost-effective solutions. Mentor and guide fellow engineers. Supervise prototyping, testing, and sample assembly. Organize and facilitate team meetings for major product deliveries. Innovate and conceptualize new products based on market requirements. Develop and document testing plans, coordinate prototypes, and assembly with external vendors. Create and revise CAD drawings and models while ensuring design optimization.

Requirements:

6+ years of experience in lighting product development. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electromechanical, or related analytical field. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Experience in project management. Strong prioritization skills with a sense of urgency. Familiarity with Waterfall/gate-style product development, Agile experience is a plus. Knowledge of Lean methodologies, including Kaizen, continuous improvement, poka-yoke, and 5S. Moderate understanding of electrical circuits, reliability, wiring, and control protocols.
