This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Key job responsibilities SDE II's own new feature development. We trust them to own system components from design through to implementation, deployment, and operations. You'll build and improve systems that help our customers (coworkers at Amazon) do the right thing for their customers faster and safer. You'll consult with senior and principal engineers in the organization to ensure your designs will meet customers' needs. You'll perform at least one week of on-call duty per quarter, being the first line of defense against system problems, and escalating to peers and leaders as appropriate. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of non-professional software development experience 2+ years of non-design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) Experience programming with at least one software programming language 2+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix systems Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
