Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional with 5+ years of experience for the position of Director of Severance Tax. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Oversight:

Develop and implement strategic plans for managing severance tax functions within the Oil & Gas sector.

Provide leadership in optimizing tax processes to ensure compliance and maximize financial efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay abreast of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations related to severance tax in the Oil & Gas industry.

Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance on complex tax issues and fostering a culture of excellence.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve overall organizational goals.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and optimization.

Work closely with finance and accounting teams to integrate tax strategies into overall financial planning.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on tax-related matters.

Represent the organization in discussions with tax authorities and other relevant entities.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate potential tax risks, ensuring the organization operates within acceptable risk parameters.

Develop and implement risk management strategies related to severance tax.

Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (CPA, CMA) preferred.

-5+ years of experience in severance tax management within the Oil & Gas industry.

-Proven track record of successfully navigating and ensuring compliance with complex tax regulations.

-Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

-Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
