Work as a Chief Estimator for a national general contractor that focuses on retail, commercial, industrial, and mutlifamily projects. They offer a competitive salary, room for growth, and strong company culture. Job Description Leadership and oversight of the estimating team. Includes staffing and all stages of employee development. See a project from conceptual bidding to bid Delegates and assigns estimates to the team while ensuring estimating team accountability. Ensures all pending estimates are submitted thoroughly, completely, and on-time with high quality. * Lead regular estimating meetings to review open bid opportunities and review the status with the team. Develop and guide larger or complex estimates while working alongside and supporting the estimating team. Establish estimating standards for all estimates and oversee analysis of past performance on estimates. Act as the estimating "subject matter expert". Recognize areas of estimating improvements through observation or from recommendations from the team. Engage with Director of Preconstruction, Business Development and Operations team or appropriate staff, including MEP, virtual design and/or field, throughout the preconstruction process as needed to ensure understanding of the project goals, client goals, and drive the estimate strategy throughout the estimating process and review. Build strong relationships with subcontractor partners through attendance in subcontractor events/gatherings. Track subcontractor reviews to look for new vendors and ways to support long standing relationships and/or diversity sub engagement. Oversee final subcontractor and vendor selections while applying prequalification standards and procedures. Develop and maintain client, architect, subcontractor, and other industry relationships at the appropriate level, reinforcing commitment to continuously address their needs and interests. Actively participate in company-wide initiatives to further key company goals. Ensure profitable project budgets. Responsible to oversee the estimate hand-off process between preconstruction and operations. Collaborate with Director of Preconstruction to manage and further develop the estimating internship and mentoring program. Collaborate with Director of Preconstruction to collaborate with MEP and Virtual Design

The Successful Applicant 10+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor. Proven track record of success in working in team or management of estimating (or similar) department. Estimating experience with various estimating types and project scales. Working knowledge of building codes and ADA laws. Understanding of Construction Systems and ADA laws. Demonstrated Technical Competencies to include: Microsoft Suite - Excel, Word, and Outlook, Projects Sage Estimating Software Viewpoint Software On-Screen Takeoff or Dimension Conceptual bidding needed
