DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a track mounted Sandvik Pantera dPi 1500 drill across the Greensboro District. The Drill operator will perform maintenance on all relevant equipment, to include the drill and pumps, maintain a safe working area, troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic issues, and assist in loading and stemming of blast patterns. Equipment: Sandvik Pantera dPi 1500 DrillSalem Stone Quarry4572 High Point RoadKernersville, NC 27284ResponsibilitiesOperates a drill and associated equipment within the company guidelines and safety standardsCompletes day to day activities of drill operations including daily/monthly machine inspections, greasing, drill logs, and replacing bits as neededPerforms maintenance on drill and pump systemAides in loading and stemming of blast patternsParticipates in safety inspections, plant safety program, and follows company and MSHA safety rules and regulations Operates other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as neededAides in the training of co-workers as neededPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisorRequirementsMust be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated Will take an active role in the plant safety initiativesWilling to work overtime and weekends as neededWilling to cross-train in different areas of productionEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionExperience in hydraulic and electrical systems preferredExperience with Kelly Bar driven drills preferred Experience with electric powered drill preferredATF Clearance a plusKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProficient in all aspects of drillingAble to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a teamPossess effective coordination and communication skills Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skillsAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervisionAble to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditionsAble to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulationsAble to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by productionAbout Martin MariettaMartin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready mixed concrete and asphalt.
