We seek to hire a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer I will perform industrial and mechanical engineering services on industrial process projects of small to large scope for facilities that process minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, and petrochemicals, among others.General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Performing various design services as an engineer, including Conceptual Studies, Process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balance, calculations, equipment selection, instrument selection and general arrangements for bulk material handling, process piping, conveyance equipment detail shop drawings, dust collection, chute fabrication drawings, tank/bin design, and equipment platforms/catwalks with minimal direction from supervising staff.Providing oversight and coordination of projects, and working with assigned design managers and project managers, to meet client's budget, contract fees, goals, objectives, and deadlinesCoordinating and communicating all aspects of industrial and mechanical design within multi-disciplinary teams as requested by the Design Manager or Project Engineer.Developing project schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documentsComplying with quality control policies and proceduresProviding support services during the bidding process, i.e., preparing addenda, amendments, attend pre-bid meetings, open bids, tabulate bids, technical bid analysis, etc. as directedPerforming construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI's, reviewing shop drawings, preparing as-builts, etc. as directedWorking with, responding to, and taking direction from senior engineers and project managersWorking independently with limited directionSupervising and mentoring junior staff in the Industrial Engineering DepartmentPerforming other responsibilities as assigned by the Project Engineer, Design Manager, Project Managers, principals, and senior management.Provide technical input to the engineering design as value engineering and industry best practicesPerform other duties as requiredApplies engineering techniques to design and evaluate integrated systems for industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordinationApplies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, and production standardsConsiders workflow, layout, and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilitiesDrafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computerEnsures design meets organizational and production goalsPerforms work with a high degree of latitudeHandles the most complex issuesPossesses expert knowledge of subject matterProvides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a groupPerforms work independentlyConsidered a high-level specialist who regularly interacts and works with senior managementUses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete workProject responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Responsible for document organization and clarityResponsible for discipline drawing coordinationDevelop design options for resolution of system conflictsDevelop proposals and project reportsMonitor individual performance relative to project budget and scheduleCoordinate work product with other disciplinesAdhere to project budget and scheduleTravel up to 20%Education, Technology and Experience Must have graduated from an ABET-accredited 4-, 5-, or 6-year engineering program ideally in one of the following disciplines:Mechanical Engineering or Engineering TechnologyMechatronics Engineering or Engineering TechnologyChemical Engineering or Engineering TechnologyIndustrial Engineering or Engineering TechnologyProcess Engineering or Engineering TechnologyA Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer I should be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, and information management. Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to utilize the software in the development of project documents and interact with other project team members in their use of the software is highly desirable.
