Job Summary and Qualifications

I. Position Summary: The Lead Therapist effectively collaborates as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide treatment, management, evaluation and care of the patient with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system. The Lead Therapist directs patient care in a patient and family centered environment, in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The Lead Therapist is responsible for carrying a patient workload and monitoring the work of respiratory therapists on assigned shift. The Lead Therapist is the first level of administration assigned to the department in the absence of the Clinical Coordinator and Director of Respiratory Care. The Lead Therapist will be expected to rotate on call shifts with other Lead Therapists and the Clinical Coordinator, as required by departmental needs.

What qualifications you will need:

I. Minimum Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited 2-year Respiratory Therapy program

Licensure/Certifications:

Current license from the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care, in good standing

BLS certified

NRP certified

Experience: A minimum of 5 years Respiratory therapy experience required. RRT preferred, but not required.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist
  • Associate Degree
