Serves as the primary liaison responsible for coordination and communication activities between the design team and the client/customer and provides project management oversight and professional support throughout the entire construction process. Key Responsibilities:Provides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client/customer, accurately & timelyIn accordance with company standards, provides assistance in the preparation of accurate and complete proposals and engineering agreementsAccurately and timely produces mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specificationsAccurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parametersProvides research design options consistent with project requirementsSelects appropriate equipment for project typeCreates construction HVAC documents for permitting that are accurate and complete.Produces accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parametersAccurately and consistently execute QA/QC processProvide project coordination with in house and outside sourcesProvides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes and standards consistent with company quality standards.Actively participates in post design consultation activities and represents the company in client meetings through construction completionResponsible for on-boarding and overseeing junior engineersActively mentors junior engineers and designersProvide timely billing of projects to accounting departmentFollows established work rules, policies and proceduresActively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costsCooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assignedAdditional Tasks: Other general office processes and procedures and project activitiesMinimum Qualifications:A 4-year degree in engineering requiredMinimum 3 years' experienceKnowledge of various HVAC/plumbing/fire protection systems, equipment and conceptsKnowledge of engineering drafting standardsKnowledge and utilization of company & design standardsExpert knowledge of building codes and standardsDemonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawingsKnowledge of AutoCadKnowledge of RevitGood communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:EIT and/or PE preferredTravel Requirements:Travel is anticipated between 0-10%Equal Employment Opportunity: It is the policy of RTM Engineering Consultants to practice a program of equal employment opportunity, and advancement opportunities are made available to all employees on the basis of individual qualifications without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, disability, age or gender.At this time, only candidates authorized to work in the United States of America without the need for sponsorship will be considered.RTM does not currently accept unsolicited resumes through or from search firms or recruiters.Department Mechanical Engineering Locations Chicago, IL
