The Data Processing Unit (DPU) team brings together state-of-the-art software and hardware expertise to create a highly programmable and high-performance ASIC with the capability to efficiently handle large data streams. Thanks to its integrated design, this solution empowers teams to operate with increased agility and deliver significantly superior performance compared to CPU-based alternatives. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our DPU Runtime (OS) team responsible for developing cutting edge, high-performance scalable and programmable DPU software with a focus on hardware accelerators driver software development. You will be a key contributor within our DPU software team. You will bring your OS and embedded development experience to contribute to DPU driver code in DPU Runtime OS. Your contributions will have a wide impact across Azure through the development of the latest DPU based generation of Compute and Storage server platforms. Responsibilities: Design and development of the software drivers for the DPU hardware accelerators. Development and support of the software for DPU fabric subsystem. Write performance and stress test suite for the hardware accelerators and fabric subsystems. Develop, maintain and debug DPU low level software modules and debug tools Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of C or C++ programming languages Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems Understanding of complex embedded systems Experience in writing device drivers in one or more operating systems Understanding of cache coherency and memories Software architectural and design sense Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
