A growing health services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Accountant to their growing team in the Bronx. In this role, the Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Management staff with the coordination and execution of the day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions through a variety of activities.

***This is a Hybrid opportunity requiring the qualified professional to work onsite at least 2 days a week.***

Responsibilities:
The Accountant will:

  • Organize and directs posting of entries in general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers
  • Review, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts for monthly and year-end closings
  • Maintain controls to ensure that billing, revenue, and cash receipts are properly and timely recorded and reconciled
  • Review accounts receivables every month and follows up with appropriate parties on unpaid items
  • Act as liaison with social workers, program management, and intake staff with respect to billing and collection issues
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and related reports
  • Perform Balance Sheets and Income and Expense account analyses and reconciliations
  • Prepare annual premium proposals in conjunction with program and financial management
  • Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with program and financial management
  • Prepare quarterly and annual cost reports
  • Assist in planning, coordination, and preparation for annual certification audits and other audits as required
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or related field
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
