***SERVER***

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The duties of the Server occupy a wide range of customer service activities in the HBT and may change according to staffing scenarios.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

Personal integrity and professionalism are a prerequisite. The Server must be a mature team player who has a genuine enthusiasm for the job. This individual must have strong organizational and people skills, and should possess a positive attitude, enthusiasm, passion for customer satisfaction and commitment to excellence.

**REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Greeting all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness

* Ensuring positive and memorable experiences for guests

* Serving MBBC's alcoholic products in an appropriate manner consistent with company standards and the Vermont Department of Liquor Control

* Regularly attending in-house training

* Constantly expanding knowledge of beer and other products and services

* Answering guest questions about beer, menu items and facilities accurately and in a friendly manner

* Identifying food and beverage orders when ready and delivering items to tables in a timely manner

* Maintaining a professional appearance at all times

* Communicating with management to ensure guest satisfaction

* Reporting to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to work

* Maintaining professional relationships with all co-workers

* Following checklists and standard operating procedures

* Maintaining a safe, clean, organized and stocked work area

* Maintaining full knowledge of menus, recipes and other pertinent information

* Responsible for constant sanitation, organization and proper food handling

* Preparing work area for opening, mid-shift or closing in accordance with company standards

* Completing opening/closing checklists

* Performing other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Manager-on-Duty

* Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Ability to follow strict food safety requirements

* Ability to successfully complete the ServSafe course

* Maintaining a professional appearance at all times

* Communicating with management to ensure guest satisfaction

* Reporting to work as scheduled, in uniform, and ready to work

* Maintaining professional relationships with all co-workers

* Following checklists and standard operating procedures

* Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

* Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Ability to follow strict food safety requirements

* Maintaining a professional appearance at all times

* Communicating with management

* Reporting to work as scheduled and ready to work

* Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

* Maintaining professional relationships with all co-workers

* Following checklists and standard operating procedures

* Maintaining a safe, clean, organized and stocked work area

* Responsible for constant sanitation and organization

* Preparing work area for opening, mid-shift or closing in accordance with company standards

* Performing other related tasks as assigned by the Culinary Manager or Manager-on-Duty

**POSITION:** Dishwasher

***HOST / HOSTESS***

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The ideal Host / Hostess will excel in presenting a positive first impression of friendliness, excellent service and high standards. This individual will greet guests upon arrival, inform guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, show guests to their table, and bid guests farewell as they leave. As a member of an energetic team, the Host / Hostess may also need to answer the phone and fill to-go orders when needed.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

The Host / Hostess is a motivated and positive team player who is able keep up in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict food safety requirements. Dependability, enthusiasm, a cheerful and professional demeanor and a willingness to learn are a must.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Greeting incoming guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escorting guests to assigned dining area; presenting menus; announcing server's name; acknowledging guests when they depart

* Using visual cues to seat guests in the bar or dining areas depending on their preference

* Answering incoming calls and providing appropriate customer service

* Managing the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas; providing accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate

* Tending to special guest needs and requests

* Working with managers to take and plan reservations as well as managing the waiting list

* Maintaining full knowledge of all menu items including recipes and all other pertinent information

* Maintaining full knowledge of our product offerings consistently as they change

* Attending regularly scheduled in-house trainings

* Completing the opening and closing of checklists

* Maintaining a safe, sanitized and stocked work area

* Following standard opening and closing procedures

* Assisting servers in the delivery of food if necessary

**REQUIREMENTS**

* Previous Host / Hostess experience a plus but not necessary

* Must have night & weekend availability

* Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for extended periods of time

* Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment

* Maintaining a professional appearance at all times

* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive and professional relationships with colleagues, management and guests

* Ability to work effectively within a team

* Commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

* Ability to stand / walk during entire shift and stay focused and alert for extended periods of time

* Ability to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
