The Destin School of the Arts (DSOTA) is seeking a full-time Director. We are looking for someone who loves God, kids, the Arts, and would like to put those 3 things together to reach people for the Kingdom. Mission:

Destin School of the Arts is a Christian faith-based ministry of Destin Methodist Church, providing a safe, positive environment to learn different artistic mediums/skills by empowering students self-expression and utilizing their gifts to impact their lives, families, and communities. We believe that God made us to worship him and to create. With group classes or private lessons, DSOTA strives to provide professional art enrichment programs (including musical, visual and performing arts, dance, theatre) for all ages in our community.

Required:

To provide a safe, faith-based environment for members of the community to receive exemplary arts education, in all aspects of the creative arts, through private lessons, group classes, and cultural arts ministry efforts.

Work in tandem with the other Destin Methodist Church ministries to create outreach efforts that will support and benefit not only Destin School of the Arts, but also Destin Methodist Church, its ministry efforts, and the communities at large.

Meet with church leadership periodically to coordinate current and projected efforts to ensure adherence to the original vision and long-term goals of Destin School of the Arts.

Attend weekly staff meetings as established by church leadership.

Create and adhere to Destin School of the Arts yearly budget and financial goals

Create and adhere to an annual strategic plan.

Seek out applicable grants, fundraising, private donors, community partnerships, and maintain reports for ongoing grants for reapplications.

Oversee the purchase of class supplies and other DSOTA needs

Create an inspirational school environment that is appealing visually, spiritually, and artistically.

Lead and manage all staff and independent contractors, including interviews, hiring, background checks, trainings, reviews, renewals, timesheet and payroll.

Create and manage on-going programming catered to school age students for the Arts School including but not limited to classical arts, theatre, musical theatre, choirs, dance, etc.

Organize, promote, and manage logistics of bi-annual DSOTA performance recital and art exhibit.

Assist with the creation and support management of on campus arts efforts from other ministries and departments.

Facilitate the establishment of private lessons between the student and instructor and manage initial correspondence.

Meet with students and responsible parties periodically to ascertain progress and satisfaction with the instruction they have received, as well as with Destin School of the Arts as a whole.

Communicate and uphold the policies of Destin School of the Arts as they pertain to active and potential students.

Assist with the collection of tuition checks to be turned in to the Accounting Dept.

Additional Skills Preferred, but Not Required:

Design and distribute all marketing materials for DSOTA including all flyers, handouts, posters, web images, events, etc.

Oversee the design and maintenance of the DSOTA website, including HTML code writing.

Oversee all marketing for DSOTA.

Oversee DSOTA Social Media presence for promotional efforts of DSOTA lessons, classes, and ministry/outreach efforts.

Create, compose, and distribute bi-weekly e-blasts to provide information about upcoming events, classes, curriculum, and updates to the active clientele and the community at large.

Attend public speaking events to promote Destin School of the Arts.
