Job Description

John Crane has a current opening for a Customer Reliability Engineer to sit onsite at one of our customer sites. The individual will participating in activities with the customer to comply with the partnership agreement. She/He will aids salesman and/or regional engineer with troubleshooting by investigating problems related to product performance and application specific criteria.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reviews applications with the local salesman and customer representatives to make specific recommendations for MTBF improvement
  • Compiles pertinent information by investigating, analyzing and evaluating problems related to product performance and application specific criteria in the field with the customer. Will include the measuring of rotating equipment
  • Observes the installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and their auxiliary support system
  • Observes, collects and evaluates customer data while working with the salesman and/or regional engineer. Then reports seal programs results utilizing John Cranes current reliability management software, e.g., ServicMaxINTERFACE
  • Analyzes the equipment survey for inventory optimization opportunities within current consignment management guidelines
  • Maintains John Crane s equipment survey
  • Communicates orally and in writing with customers, company personnel, and vendors providing counseling and recommendations with the assistance of salesman
  • Assists salesman with customer training for maintenance and operations personnel as required
  • Assists customer with the Management Of Change process with oversight by salesman
  • Collects new equipment data sheets from customers project engineers for review by salesman and/or regional engineer
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary to comply with specific contractual terms of the agreement, or as required by the Branch Manager

The Individual

Requires a BSME or equivalent and a basic understanding of the application of engineering principles required to perform work assignments as well as general PC and software knowledge
