Laurel's Loft is looking for a part-time Sales Associate to work in our boutique style thrift shop supporting the programs and services of Laurel House, a domestic violence agency. The culture of the shop reflects that of the larger organization - a supportive, collaborative environment of staff and volunteers who are committed to the mission of Laurel House. This position is part-time 20+ hours per week working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30 to 5:30 with flexibility to fill in other days (including Saturdays) as needed. Benefits include PTO, Dental insurance and EAP. Hourly rate $13.00/hour.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Excellent customer service and willingness to share the mission of Laurel House with customers
  • Cash register/balancing cash drawer at close of shift
  • Willing to learn or has knowledge of clothing, shoe and accessory brands
  • Receive donations and issue donation receipts
  • Sort/tag/steam and stock merchandise
  • Keep shop clean, organized and neat
  • Internet search experience to look up value of assorted donated items
  • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Manage volunteers in the absence of the manager
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unassisted
