Oracle Senior Software Engineer - Madison, Wisconsin

Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure (OHAI) is developing patient-and provider-centric solutions rapidly and securely. At OHAI, you will work with authorities across industries and have access to the latest technology. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
As a Senior Software Engineer you’ll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production. You will need to balance between feature development and production KPIs. As well as share your knowledge with other team members to foster collaboration and inclusion.
Responsibilities:
Define specifications for significant new projects
Design and develop software according to specifications
Lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services
Mentor and empower other engineers
Own the complete SDLC from architecture to production
Balance between feature development and production KPIs
Share knowledge with team members to foster collaboration and inclusion
Minimum Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent
+5 years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud native systems
Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices
Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java, Python, or similar OO languages
Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc.
Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
Demonstrated ability to influence full system architecture
Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects
