Our client manages a substantial portfolio of assets and is focused on the real estate sector. The Property Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the financial aspects of the managed properties. The preferred candidate will have the opportunity to expand their current role progressively, contributing significantly to the organization's ongoing success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly financial closing activities for a variety of properties
  • Record transactions in ledgers, reconcile accounts, and make necessary adjustments
  • Monitor and document tenant receivables
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliation and corresponding schedules
  • Manage bank reconciliations and monitor cash holdings
  • Process accounts payable for properties, including new vendor setup and invoice entry
  • Prepare and post accrual entries, complete with supporting records
  • Calculate distributions accurately
  • Generate monthly financial packages and perform initial review of profit and loss variances
  • Assist in meeting lender information requests
  • Support annual audit efforts
  • Contribute to special projects as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in real estate accounting
  • Strong preference for experience in multi-family or similar real estate sectors
  • Familiarity with Yardi software is highly preferred
  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Robust understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated experience in procedural control
  • Effective communication skills, including presentation abilities
  • Capacity to operate independently within a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated capability to embrace and excel in new project initiatives

This is an on-site position at our clients corporate headquarters.
