Recruiter, Music City Loop (Contract) Nashville, TN OPERATIONS, Recruiting In office Full-time The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions. As a Contract Recruiter for Nashville, you will drive the recruitment of top talent for all roles supporting our Music City Loop project, a 10-mile tunnel connecting Nashvilles airport to downtown, and prepare for hiring in other cities as we expand. This includes engineering, operations, skilled trades (e.g., electricians, welders, mechanics), and administrative positions. You will partner with hiring managers to source, screen, interview, and onboard candidates, ensuring a robust talent pipeline for current and future projects. This role demands autonomy, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment while representing The Boring Company with professionalism and enthusiasm. Responsibilities Partner with Nashville hiring managers to understand headcount needs across the Music City Loop and future projects, refine job requisitions, create targeted job postings, and align on hiring strategies and interview feedback. Source diverse talent for roles including engineers, operations coordinators, electricians, welders, mechanics, and administrative staff, using innovative strategies like LinkedIn, industry networks, trade schools, and local vocational programs. Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers with clear recommendations. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including coordinating onsite interviews, candidate tours, offer negotiations, background checks, reference verification, and new hire paperwork. Identify recruitment challenges for Nashville operations and multi-city expansions, proposing actionable solutions to streamline processes and reduce time-to-hire by 25% or more. Train hiring managers and team members on best practices for recruiting and interviewing candidates across technical, trade, and administrative roles. Organize and execute recruitment events, such as job fairs, facility tours, or virtual webinars tailored to Nashvilles talent market, building on our July 2025 hiring event for 100+ roles. Ensure compliance with EEO/OFCCP regulations, supporting annual reporting requirements and diversity initiatives. Build relationships with local stakeholders, including the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, HBCUs (e.g., Tennessee State University), veteran programs, trade unions, and diverse talent networks to enhance candidate pipelines. Support hiring for emerging projects in other cities (e.g., Las Vegas, Chicago) as The Boring Company expands. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of recruiting experience, with a focus on engineering, operations, skilled trades, or high-volume roles in dynamic environments. Proven track record as an in-house or agency recruiter in fast-paced, growth-oriented settings. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience recruiting for infrastructure, construction, or transportation projects in startup or high-growth companies. Familiarity with OFCCP compliance and affirmative action planning. Expertise in non-traditional sourcing methods, such as targeted LinkedIn campaigns, local industry events, or partnerships with apprenticeship programs and chambers of commerce. Strong ability to distinguish top-tier talent (e.g., top 5% vs. top 50%) in technical, trade, and administrative fields. Excellent relationship-building skills with hiring managers, including Director and VP-level leaders. Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever) and tools like LinkedIn Recruiter. Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively in a team setting. Passion for innovative technologies and a hands-on approach in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of the Nashville talent market and experience supporting multi-city expansions.
