**Position Summary:**

Birdcall is a rapidly growing, technology-enabled, hip fast casual restaurant. Birdcall offers an all-natural, healthy dining experience that focuses on contactless ordering. The Shift Lead will assist the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager with the daily operations of the restaurant, including guest service, finance, inventory, safety, and human resources. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and working in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and hiring new team members. All restaurant Shift Leads are hired with the understanding that they can and may move in between any of our Birdcall stores. We are a fast-growing company, opening new locations and concepts each year which provides ample opportunity for growth.

This position is non-exempt and reports to all in-store management. The compensation for this position ranges from $16-$22 per hour.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

All duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Assists with overall organization and operation of the restaurant and staff

* Assist with developing and implementing revenue increasing strategies

* Assists with ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen, restrooms, dining room, and surrounding areas

* Assists with ensuring highest standards for food, beverage, and service

* Assists with ensuring the practice of proper hygiene, as designated by management and the health department

* Assists with creating and maintaining restaurant budgets and allocation of resources accordingly

* Assists with purchasing, receiving, conducting inventory and rotating food and beverages

* Assists with overseeing selection, training, motivation, development, and coaching of departmental staff

* Assists with ensuring proper maintenance and operation of the restaurant equipment and facilities

* Works the floor in all positions as needed

* Maintains contact with guests and helps ensure guest satisfaction

* Receives, investigates, and acts upon complaints from guests and employees to ensure resolution

* Completes other tasks/duties as assigned

* Restaurant Staff

**Education and Experience:**

* Bachelors Degree or equivalent

* Restaurant Management Experience- 1-2 years (preferred)

* Knowledge of restaurant software: scheduling, inventory, POS

* Extensive Microsoft Office knowledge and proficiency

* ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred)

* TIPs (Training Intervention Procedures) Alcohol Certification (preferred)

* Hours may vary if manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise

* Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level, including delivery when needed

* Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion

* Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment

* Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person
