The Role: Amazon Design Technologies is a multi-disciplinary team that provides design software, systems platforms and design processes to our Product Development, New Technology, Operations, Retail, Footwear, Apparel and Manufacturing teams. We are looking for an experienced Systems Development Engineer who enjoys solving problems and has a strong technical background in Systems Engineering and Software Development. Key job responsibilities As a Systems Development Engineer in the Design Technologies team, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the systems that Amazon's research, development, and design teams rely on to build the next generation of Amazon digital devices. You will coordinate with researchers and engineers to build and support the infrastructure they need. You will work with vendors to evaluate, purchase, deploy, and support mission-critical tools. You will customize and integrate third-party software to meet Amazon's needs. You will improve existing infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet Amazon's high bar for operational excellence. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment Experience building services using AWS products Experience with Linux/Unix Experience with networking fundamentals including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, routers, etc. Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems) 2+ Years of experience managing one or more CAE/FEA tools such as Ansys, Abaqus, CST, LS-Dyna, Comsol, Matlab 2+ Years of experience managing one or more schedulers such as PBS/OpenPBS, Slurm, IBM LSF 2+ Years troubleshooting Simulation Job issues in AWS 2+ Years of managing license servers such as FlexLM based servers PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in a high pace DevOps Experience with distributed systems at scale Knowledge of database systems and SQL Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.) Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
