Responsibilities:
  • Operation of both CNC and manually operated machining equipment: lathe, mill, drill, key seater, shaper, etc.
  • Operation and basic set up of CNC Lathe and 3 axis VMC
  • Preparation and manufacturing of high precision parts, including but not limited to the set-up and operation of the machine tool, part inspection and blueprint reading
  • Experience with machine tool set-up and tool selection, including understanding of work holding devices and first part inspection
  • Adapt cutting cycle or machining processes to accommodate for material irregularities
  • Knowledge and application GD&T such as concentricity, roundness, parallelism and other print specifications
  • Experience with choosing and applying measuring equipment, such as OD/ID mics, calipers, height, and bore gages
  • Utilization of tool selection and changes, identifying materials characteristics, cutting fluids and tools, and tooling materials
  • Understanding of safety, quality and continuous improvement expectations in a manufacturing environment
Requirements:
  • Experience with metal fabrication, quality control and excellent mechanical skills are also a plus
  • Routine preventative maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Good oral and written communication ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma with trade school or technical college experience preferred
  • 5+ years similar experience
  • Experience with Fanuc controllers
  • Knowledge of Mastercam and Cimco software a plus
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves and ear protection.
