Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Medline is seeking a Legal Counsel to perform a variety of legal services for clients across Medline's business. This role will primarily be focused on compliance and regulatory counseling, corporate governance initiatives, and enterprise risk assessment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide guidance and counseling to colleagues across the business and functional divisions on regulatory and compliance matters.
Support compliance program development that aligns with the Company's needs, industry standards, and best practices.
Collaborate on development and implementation of corporate governance initiatives and other enterprise projects, including risk assessment.
Support and conduct risk assessments and due diligence to identify potential compliance risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Juris Doctor degree.
Certification / Licensure
Member of a state bar in good standing.
Work Experience
4 or more years of post-law school experience at a law firm or corporation.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to independently identify practical legal solutions to complex challenges.
Possess the skills to effectively project manage a legal project.
Knowledge of laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry.
