SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer helps plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes, while providing hands support to identify and troubleshoot issues.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.Applies statistical & lean methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Provide a wide range of mechanical/manufacturing engineering skills. Design tooling and fixtures using AutoCAD Inventor Supervise engineering and production/quality projects from inception to completion.Works closely with the Management team to improve overall production techniques using lean manufacturing principles.Provide a wide range of mechanical/manufacturing engineering skills.Supervise engineering and production/quality projects from inception to completion.Performs other duties as assigned.Critical Competencies Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent, or 5+ years' experience manufacturing environment or a combination of education and multiple years' experience.PLC programming experience preferred.Knowledge in the areas of manufacturing, machining, CNC programming, Electrical machine controls, gauging and quality systems preferred.Proven track record of successful project facilitation and completion preferred.Physical Demand and Work Environment: Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
