We are currently seeking a Process & Facilities Engineer II/III for a direct placement opportunity with our client, a premier chemical production company.

What You Will Do: As a Process & Facilities Engineer II/III, you will perform a variety of mechanical process and facilities engineering tasks to maintain and continuously improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems in Distillation and Conversion. You will provide engineering and technical services to Operations and additional service units to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximum efficiency of these units.

Technical Duties:
  • Support the Engineering Manager Process & Facilities in Distillation and Conversion to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance.
  • Maximize the availability and efficiency of production units.
  • Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering.
  • Participate in commissioning of new and modified production sites.
  • Plan and execute system or unit turnarounds.
  • Support the maintenance team in planning and executing ITPM and MRO activities.
  • Maintain asset data in enterprise asset management and plant engineering systems.
  • Develop expertise in process engineering judgment within your area of responsibility.
  • Develop and support the development of specifications and standards.
  • Plan and execute small investment, repair, and improvement projects as project manager.
  • Conduct and coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities.
  • Participate in PHAs on new and existing process installations.
  • Resolve plant engineering issues per API standards and OSHA PSM 1910.119.
  • Support process and technology transfer between production sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities related to process, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Cooperate with various teams to achieve optimal results from a corporate perspective.
  • Manage RCRA generation concerning container and labeling usage, maintenance, storage, and inspections.
Administrative Duties:
  • Keep documentation and equipment records up to date.
  • Supervise third-party providers for engineering and maintenance services.
  • Represent the company's interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Perform tasks and assignments per company policies and procedures.
What We Need From You:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in a PSM facility is preferred.
  • Thorough technical knowledge in mechanical process and facilities engineering, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Familiarity with process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, pipeline isometrics, and equipment drawings.
  • Understanding of processing equipment and piping systems design.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong multitasking competency and ability to work under schedule and cost pressure.
  • Preferred but not required: Six Sigma and Lean, SAP EAM, Microsoft SharePoint, Delta V, PI Processbook, COMOS.
  • Must be physically fit to wear an air-purifying respirator if necessary.
  • Flexibility to work nonstandard schedules, including nights, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
  • Preferred experience: Management of Change Systems, HAZOP/LOPA participation, refining, chemical, or pulp/paper experience, small project scope development, leadership, execution, and commissioning skills, process troubleshooting, and fixed equipment/piping repair.

Salary: $90K-$95K
