We are currently seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a rapidly growing client in Fairfax, VA. The Staff Pharmacist will play a vital role in the fast-paced daily operations of a mail-order 503A pharmacy, specializing in sterile compounding and retailing 503B compounded medications in the GLP-1 space. This role involves collaborating closely with the Pharmacist in Charge and pharmacy staff to ensure compliance, safety, and high standards of patient care. Qualifications: Education : Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school. Licensure : Active pharmacist license in Virginia and in good standing with the state board of pharmacy. Multiple state licenses preferred. Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, and a minimum of 1 year of sterile compounding experience. Skills : Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of compounding pharmacy laws and regulations. Proficiency with pharmacy management software and systems. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of USP and GMP standards Key Responsibilities: Pharmacy Operations : Assist in the daily operations of the mail-order pharmacy, focusing on sterile compounding and the retail of 503B compounded medications. Support the Pharmacist in Charge in managing workflow and ensuring efficient operations. Champion quality and adherence to USP and FDA standards within the team Patient Care : Provide exceptional patient care by counseling patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions. Address and resolve patient inquiries and concerns to ensure a positive experience. Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications through mail-order services. Compliance and Quality Assurance : Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to pharmacy operations and compounding. Drive quality assurance initiatives and help monitor adherence to safety protocols. Report any medication errors or adverse drug events to the Pharmacist in Charge. Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care, particularly regarding custom-compounded medications. Maintain effective communication with pharmacy staff and assist in staff training as needed. Inventory Management : Assist in the management of pharmaceutical inventory, including raw materials for compounding. Support inventory audits and ensure proper storage of all pharmaceutical products. Professional Development : Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice and participate in continuing education opportunities. Engage in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to compounding and patient care.
