**Description**

Wastequip is looking for a Senior Buyer to support out manufacturing plant. Position can sit in Eagleville, TN, Erial, NJ, Tyler, TX, Lakeland, FL, New Lebanon, NY, or Albany, OR. The Senior Buyer is a key member of the Purchasing Team for the Container Division of Wastequip. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for purchasing all required materials to feed two of Wastequips container manufacturing plants.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Place purchase orders for all materials to support the production plan and to support changes in production cadence and mix

* On a daily basis work with plant operations personnel to monitor raw material inventory levels that update to MRP programs, ensure replenishment process efficiencies, and prevent stockouts

* Monitor supplier fulfillment exceptions by tracking need dates and delivery dates on a daily basis. Execute necessary measures to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.

* Monitor Open POs and assure that purchase orders are closed on a timely basis.

* Monitor and maintain vendor records with special attention to pricing, usage rates, lead times, vendor performance, and defective products

* Maintain active daily communication with facilities and satellite locations to ensure that issues with outbound and inbound orders are resolved timely

* Maintain and assist with the item master data for purchased parts in the ERP system, including reordering points and vendor information

* Analyze backlog daily to ensure parts will be shipped on time and provide appropriate follow-up and shipping information to the manufacturing sites

* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with suppliers, co-workers, and management

* ALWAYS act in a safe manner and ensure those around us do not put themselves or others at risk

* Travel is required to Brookhaven MS (approx. 450 miles from Eagleville) on a monthly basis to maintain a close working relationship with the plant operations and overall material inventory status. It is initially expected that this travel will be one trip each month for 2 to 3 days duration.

* Participate in Supplier Performance management processes

* Identifying new suppliers throughout requirements planning activities

* Identifying and implement savings initiatives in all manufacturing materials and activity

* Maintain and keep daily performance KPIs and reports

* Creating and issuing RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs as required

* Understanding of Excel data management formulas and functionalities

* Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing

* Working knowledge of manufacturing processes

**Qualifications**

* Procurement experience in steel purchasing (hot rolled steel products (sheet, plate), structural steel tubing, and purchasing raw materials to support manufacturing/production floor highly desired.

* Understanding of Basic APICS fundamental

* 5+ years experience in purchasing and/or supply chain

* Bachelors degree (Supply Chain Mgt or Business preferred) or equivalent work experience

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, plant/manufacturing work environment and ability to react quickly to changes in demand

* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly desired
