Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced Consulting Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled individual to apply their expertise in mechanical engineering principles and practices to a variety of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing all aspects of mechanical components.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development, and implementation of technical products and systems.
2. Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards. Apply theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic analytical engineering problems.
3. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.
4. Provide design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
5. Analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
6. Conduct complex mechanical analyses using software tools to validate designs. This includes tolerance analysis, FEA, and related activities.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, safety, and procurement to ensure project success.
8. Apply principles of ANSI Y14.5, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
9. Participate actively in all phases of the project from design to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
10. Provide technical guidance on aerospace projects, ensuring all designs meet required safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in consulting.
3. Proven experience with ANSI Y14.5, aerospace, CAD, tolerance, and Finite Element Analysis.
4. Proficiency in CAD software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs.
5. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
11. Willingness to keep up to date with the latest industry developments and continue professional development.
12. Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
