The salary range for this position is $86,500-$112,800. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for three (3) tenure-track assistant professors. We seek collaborative, dynamic, and innovative individuals dedicated to advancing nursing research and education. Assistant professors conduct and disseminate research that contributes to nursing knowledge while teaching and mentoring undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MS, DNP, and PhD) students to prepare them for successful nursing careers.

Ideal candidates will show clear evidence of an early-stage, focused research program, ideally supported by a completed postdoctoral fellowship.

Research areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, biobehavioral and mental health interventions, symptom science, care for underserved or chronic disease populations, integrative health and wellness, health policy, and technological approaches to health equity, planetary health, and environmental justice.

Assistant Professors will be expected to establish innovative research programs with measurable impact on the health and well-being of the communities the school serves and to secure grant funding to facilitate this important work.

The assistant professor will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students to help prepare them for a career in nursing. The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing emphasizes and values a strong pedagogical culture, and the assistant professor will leverage their expertise to teach and mentor students in the undergraduate (BS) and graduate students (MS, DNP, and PhD) and graduate programs.

The successful candidate for this position will meet the following requirements:

* A PhD degree

* Eligible California licensed Registered Nurse (RN) preferred

* Demonstrated evidence of an early-stage, focused research program

(preferably having completed a postdoctoral fellowship)

* Excellent oral and written communication and pedagogical skills

* Experience with didactic teaching in community health/public health nursing

* Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach

and mentor a diverse student body

* California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Public Health Nurse

Certification or other BRN specialties preferred
