Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan daily work schedule and direct employees to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery, proper inventory control, and prompt and effective responses to customer requests
  • Maintain an effective balance of communication between management, supervision, and all production and support personnel
  • Identify training requirements and ensure that all employees possess technical job proficiency and an understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and performance goals
  • Ensure proper documentation and records in employee performance, safety, etc
  • Perform inspections to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and security procedures
  • Initiate work orders and maintenance reports to support equipment and facility needs.
  • Coordinate with Port Captain and, or Cargo Officer on stowage, loading, and discharging operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
  • Experience in Marine Operations and Vessel Operations
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations and safety procedures
  • Experience handling and supervising employees on multiple types of cargo, especially breakbulk
  • Excellent safety record
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and an acceptable to insurance 3-year driving history
