Description Position Summary: The Manager, Software Development - Automations is responsible for overseeing the development and support of our automation software systems, from NET functions to our decision management system, InRule. This is a highly detailed position, needing both macro and micro levels of insight and technical acumen. This position leads a team to design, troubleshoot, and optimize our software programs, focusing on automation of business processes to create efficiencies in serving our patients. Working with multiple groups, both business and IT-aligned, this position manages the end-to-end software development lifecycle for these platforms. The Software Development manager represents the team in cross-departmental planning and contributes to the ongoing refinement of the Secure SDLC. The Software Development Manager is also expected to advise on software strategy and continuous improvement efforts. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities : Manages the technical activities of a software development team engaged in software applications development for software application enhancements and new products. This includes architecture/design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance. Responsible for contributing to strategic technical directions, planning, organizing, resource allocation, development goals, standards, and processes. Provides project management and analyst support for projects as needed – ensures deadlines are met. Lead the development of our software applications for the full software development lifecycle, including secure coding practices Reports on team’s organizational, project, and individual metrics; assist in collecting and presenting of metrics Work with cross-functional groups in the organization to gather and define product requirements and specifications and establish development and launch schedules. Work with compliance, internal audit and security to ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOX, and other required standards and controls Assist external auditors, regulatory auditors, and other 3rd parties as needed Interact with partners and vendors to evaluate third-party tools and technologies supporting the software development effort Assist in various department process improvement initiatives Daily monitoring and support of system operations Represent the organization as a technical and solution expert. Keep key stakeholders informed of the progress in setting up automations. Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA. Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required. Maintains compliance with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program. Participate in hiring new staff Provide technical mentoring/coaching to more junior members of the technical staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. Management/Supervision: Responsible for selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations Competency, Skills and Abilities: Proven leadership skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Exceptional logic skills Strong troubleshooting skills Strong technical acumen Must have a drive to learn and continually improve the work environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and with a team Conflict resolution skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects Mental alertness and the ability to properly treat confidential information Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Practical understanding of every aspect of the software lifecycle, including proven skills and experience in Agile development practices NET Web Application architecture, design, and development experience Service Oriented Architecture (REST/SOAP Web Services using WCF) preferred Database design and SQL (SQL Server) preferred Requirements Education and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informational technology, management information systems or related field from an accredited university or college is required, Master’s degree preferred Seven (5) years of related work experience in Software Development Three (3) years of proven management experience in software management Prior experience in project management and business analysis preferred Product and industry knowledge preferred Prior experience with a decision management/business rule engine preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers due to extensive computer use. Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate. Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen. Ability to utilize a personal computer and other office equipment. Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed. Physical and mental ability to analyze, problem-solve and lead others Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
