Functions and Duties: Represent secured creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers in all stages of the default process. Manage and maintain default files in accordance with the firm’s compliance requirements. Review and sign documents in the default process, including motions, notices, affidavits, and other pleadings. Review and compile documents required for the default process. Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, administrative law, and local rules. Attend hearings, mediations, trials, settlement conferences, and other appearances as necessary. Handle client inquiries in a timely and competent manner through various case management systems, phone, and email. Properly use and rely on the firm’s case management system and reporting to ensure legal and client deadlines are adhered to. Maximize client billing opportunities while maintaining a clear focus on compliance expectations by prioritizing and working at a fast pace on a high volume of cases. Experience and Education: Minimum two years of experience preferably in the default servicing industry. J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the State Bar of Texas, and preferably to all the federal bankruptcy and district courts in Texas. Admission to other federal bankruptcy and district courts throughout the nation and license to practice law in other states is a plus.
