A client of Insight Global is looking for a Magnetics Engineer to design and test transformers and inductors for our three phase power distribution products. The magnetics engineer is responsible for the design of new transformers from conception to full scale production, working directly with production, program management office, quality, and other departments as technical advisor. Design They design magnets, windings, joints, current leads, and cooling systems for innovative coils. They also design magnet systems, their support structures, and feeder lines, and how they integrate into machines. Develop They develop technical solutions and detailed designs. They also define R&D activities, such as mock-ups, prototypes, and qualification tests, to validate projects. Coordinate They coordinate with other design and engineering groups, such as vessel and thermal shield, system engineering, electrical/electronic, and vacuum/cryostat. Test They test and certify engines and electrical environments for tolerances to electromagnetic pulses. Document They document new designs, write test plans, and process engineering change requests and notices. Create tools They create documentation and tools to help with decision-making and regular equipment usage. Review They review designs to ensure they meet specifications and regulations.
