Description

This position will provide comprehensive electrical and mechanical support for our growing electric bus fleet. You will be responsible for retrofit campaign completions, team support, troubleshooting, repair, operations interaction and general support of Proterra's fleet of all electric transit buses and associated charging equipment. In the event that electric buses are not in need of attention you will be required to address any other maintenance concerns that assigned to you by supervisory and or management staff. Technician must attend and participate in meetings and training on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis.

Requirements

SkillsKnowledge and Experience
•Ability to diagnose all components and sub-components of electric transit coaches and high voltage systems

•Computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications like Excel and Word

•Excellent ability to understand and follow schematics.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, and act with complete integrity
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent and able to operate independently with limited supervision (completing assigned work accurately and in a timely manner)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Sound judgement; Good problem-solving and analytical skills (troubleshoot technical issues, communicate and document solutions to non-technical parties)
  • Excellent communication skills
•Must be flexible and work in a 24/7 environment.

•Additional training from mechanical/technical schools, courses or seminars desirable.

•High school diploma or GED and valid North Carolina driver's license with CDL endorsement is required.

•Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes, and adapt to change

•Ability to innovate, solve complex issues, and present new ideas

•Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail

•Proven ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

•Experience working in a team-based environment and achieving common goals
  • Repair, maintain, troubleshoot and service electrical buses and chargers using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to basic mechanical tools
  • Hands on experience in electrical, mechanical or other related field service experience; experience with electrical, high voltage and mechanical troubleshooting
